First Niagara’s Eastern Region President Tom Amell and Catskill Branch Manager Jennifer Miller present Kellie Darling with a check for $10,000 on January 15, 2010.
To highlight the positive impact of mentioring on today’s youth, First Niagara kicked off its third annual Mentoring Matters program by awarding $150,000 to 15 Eastern New York non-for-profit organizations dedicated to mentoring efforts. The Catskill Community Center was recognized for the positive impact we are having on the youth in our community through our After-School program.
We are pleased to be a recipient of a $10,000 grant from First Niagara through their Mentoring Matters program, and thank them for their generosity.

The Daily Mail. Feb. 24, 2009. A May 16th event is being planned in Catskill to benefit the Greene County Community Cancer Fund, an arm of the Columbia-Greene Health Care Consortium. Committee members comprised of health care professionals and community organizers met recently at the Catskill Community Center to discuss a 5K walk/run scheduled for that date through Catskill from Dutchmen’s Landing and back. Proceeds from the event, which has a $10 entry fee, stay in Greene County to benefit local cancer victims for expenses not covered by insurance. Top photo, from left, committee members Kellie Darling; Nancy Richards and Cathy Start. At left volunteer and cancer survivor Diana Kalbacher addresses an issue. To her left is Darcy Connor.
