When parents want a night out give your kids a night in. Kids Night In is child care in your home or ours. Weekday Child Care Rates are weekly 7a-6p or Daily 9a-2p.

Activities may include: story time, imaginative play, music and movement, movie time/educational program, cooking/baking, games. Pricing varies. Located in Austerlitz, NY just off the Taconic Parkway Rigor Hill Exit.

Workshops for the Adult Learner starting March 2nd

Columbia-Greene Community College has scheduled a two-session workshop at the Catskill Community Center for adults thinking of returning to the classroom.

The idea of returning to school can be daunting to adults. The workshop — entitled “How to Succeed in College When You¹re No Longer a Teenager” –provides information on such college basics as traditional and
non-traditional learning, the application process and financial aid as well as how to succeed in college as an adult student.

The workshop will run for two consecutive Tuesdays starting March 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The sessions will also feature current C-GCC adult students who will talk about the admissions process and their college experiences.

Prospective students will have the opportunity to take a placement test during the second session. Test takers will receive a private consultation with an admissions counselor.

Spring Break

April 5 – 9 , 2010

This week will be for all those children who need a safe, fun place to be while their parents or guardians are working. A lot of fun activities have been planned for children of all ages.

Who: Any child in grades Pre-K through 5th grade

When: 8:30 – 5:30 pm April 5 – 9, 2010

Cost: $125/child

Requirement: Each child must bring a bagged lunch

Painting Drawing & Sculpture Classes for Children starting Jan. 12th

Ruth Leonard, local artist and teacher will introduce children to art-making, using a variety of materials. Children 8-14 can participate.

Donations for Children’s Consignment Sale being accepted for Spring

The Catskill Community Center will once again be participating in the O!Baby Children’s Consignment Sale on the Columbia County Fairgrounds in April. Please help by donating your gently used baby OR children’s items this winter!

The O’baby Children’s Consignment Sale will be held April 22, 23 & 24, 2010 on the Columbia County Fairgrounds (Main Fairhouse) in Chatham, NY. The Catskill Community Center is participating in this sale, and is now accepting donations of the following:

any gently used NEW or LIKE NEW baby clothing. Children’s clothing 2T- Junior sizes.
books in good to excellent condition
CDs or DVD’s (VHS tapes don’t sell as well)
toys with ALL parts included in good to excellent working order

All proceeds will benefit our year-round programming, and your donation is tax-deductible!

After-School Registration Daily at CCC

The Community Center is continuing with open registration for our AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM (for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade). Please stop by the Community Center any day, Monday through Friday, to register your child for After School.

Community After School began on Wednesday, Sept. 9th, but there are still slots available.

Please visit our Community After School page to download the required paperwork, including an Application Form, Release of Liability Form, and a Tuition Agreement for 2009-10. These three forms are required for registration, along with a one-time enrollment fee of $25 per child (maximum $50 per family.)
