Get America Singing!

Gather around the campfire, take out your guitar, and invite your neighbors over for a sing-a-long! Nothing brings people together like music. This class is the perfect addition to your summer, featuring classic American folk songs that everyone can sing. Youth will practice a new song each week as well as new skills, including singing technique, singing harmonies, musicianship, and music theory. Campfire not included!

Location: Catskill Wheelhouse, 46, Anbach Lane, Catskill
Learn how to speak Spanish as well as experiencing other engaging aspects of the Hispanic culture. The program will explore a different theme each week such as: food, music, dance, drama and literature. Children will sing songs in Spanish & prepare special snacks from Hispanic cuisine. There will be outdoor play time in Wheelhouse’s Outdoor Playground, storytelling and art/craft related to weekly theme.
Yoga & The House of Freedom
Grade level: 3rd to 6th
Day and Time: Wednesdays 2-4pm
Instructor: Juliana Machado
Location: The Catskill Community Center, 344 Main St, Catskill
Youth will learn the foundations of Yoga – its history and what yoga can offer. Beside the asanas (yoga poses), there will be storytelling, visual and performing art making, chanting, singing and relaxation. Juliana will be encouraging and assisting the students, as well as creating a space that is safe and fun for all while helping to inspire the students to ‘share the yoga science’ in and out of the mat!
